or maybe a cry for help.
do you see this picture?
i shamefully admit that as of today, february 27th, 2008, that i jeanetta darley have not taken down my christmas tree.
( hides in shame)
yes i am just that lazy… and whats even worse is that the boxes that everything came out of are sitting in my living room. and have been there since i unpacked all the stuff.
whats wrong with me? why cant i just start taking it down? i think i visualise all the mess it will be with things laying everywhere and what if i get interrupted and then it just stays like that.
hey i never claimed to be logical or rational!
but i do believe that admitting this to all of you is encouraging me and maybe giving me the tiniest bit of motivation. right now i am thinking.. no one else is here, the living room is fairly clean, and that big project for the shoppe you need to finish you aren’t really going to start until it warms up some outside today ……..so why not?
ok here goes…. i am feeling very convicted.

tsk tsk tsk…. I guess if you keep the tree up, you can hang easter eggs from it next 🙂 But, I agree, it is harder to take the tree down than put it up. I guess it’s easier to take it all out of boxes than try to fit it all back in. Still…. Jeanetta….. it’s time, girl. Time…. 🙂
so how has it gone today?>did you get it down?>i have no judgement for you.>if my husband wouldn’t have bugged me mine would still be up. it’s exciting to put it up and so unexciting to take it down. can you cover it with a trash bag and stick it in your basement? 🙂 win-win.>good luck.>if you did it give yourself a pat on the back.>if you didn’t…there’s always tomorrow.
If it is still up on Friday, let me know and I will come over and help you put it away! Goodness girl. YOu are way too busy!
okay, I admit I have wanted to keep my tree up this long too! But my DH just had a f i t!>>Hopefully it won’t be as hard to take it down as you think. Or…you could just pretend it’s not there and just leave it til Christmas.:)>xo Lidy
I cant say a WORD! Mine was up last year till almost March too…>This year it was up after the 1st of the year…because everyone harassed me lol.>>If all else fails you can have a St. Pattys day tree.. 😉
Oh, I LOVE IT that your tree is still up!>Most Wonderful! Yippee! Who say’s there’s a time limit anyway!>You go girlie!>Sandra Evertson
OMG! NO YOU DIDN’T! I would NEVER! LOL! Only because I’m so sick of it by New Years because as a crafter, you work on Christmas from July on, right? Maybe you aren’t getting enough Christmas love in the summer months… ! LOL! >p.s. I just bought 45 dollars worth of Mardi Gras beads for our Nascar camping trip in June… can you say party at our trailer! LOL! And I spent 45 minutes sorting them by color so I can give everyone their driver’s color! LOLOLOL! mad I tell you.
ah, another procrastinator! trust me when I say, you will feel soooo much better once it’s down. just think of that clutter you will be eliminating!
Ahhh, I remember celebrating many a Valentine’s day at my aunt’s house with her tree still twinkling in the background. Not only did she not take hers down, but she kept turning the lights on! It happens to the best of us, dont feel bad.
I know exactly what you mean!>>Don’t feel bad… I left mine up until almost Valentine’s once. I can remember Jeru coming over and and telling me I should just take the oranments off and put little paper hearts on it…
hang some eggs on it and call it good.
This is just illustrates all that is wrong with America today: laziness, preoccupation with the consumeristic holiday now called Christmas, and husbands who won’t do what their wives tell them. Uh…strike that last one. 😉
BTW, what’s the over/under on the bet on how long it is going to take you to take down that tree? Just tell Ben to douse it with some left over beer and light it on fire, bring some friends over, sing “Kumbaya”, roast some marshmellows, and call it a “spiritual” experience: you are freeing yourself from the constraints of this materialistic society.>>Oh yeah…and make sure your house insurance covers arson. 😉
