Yesterday we left out early to avoid the heat and visited Fort Morgan historical State Park. Originally built and used as a Civil War for it was used off and on as an active military base into the 40’s.
I live old forts. The architecture, the history, imagining how people would have lived on a daily basis. Thinking about how it all would have been built.
When we first started out we had some nice cloud cover but once we started walking around it lifted and the morning got very warm and muggy. You were happy to climb the oddly proportioned steps just to get up higher and enjoy the breeze.
